10 ITEMS VICTORIA BECKHAM X TARGET COLLECTION

Categories:Fashion

The secret’s out: Target just announced our next design partner, and it’s none other than internationally-known businesswoman, fashion designer and mother of four, Victoria Beckham.

Victoria Beckham portrait

Victoria Beckham for Target includes more than 200 items for women and kids, marking the designer’s first foray into designing childrenswear, something that Target just so happens to excel in. The collection reflects the essence of theVictoria, Victoria Beckham line, with easy-to-wear dresses, rompers and playful tops and bottoms for women, and corresponding styles for girls, toddler and baby. While you’ll have to wait a little longer to see the full collection, we caught up with Victoria about designing the new line and collaborating with Target. Read on to learn more: How are your two lines—Victoria Beckham and Victoria, Victoria Beckham—different, and what’s the essence of your line with Target? The Victoria, Victoria Beckham line, or “VVB" as it’s often called, was launched three years after I began Ready-to-Wear, and is a lifestyle range incorporating all the pieces my customer needs in her wardrobe—at a more accessible price point. I always describe VVB as the younger sister to the Ready–to–Wear. It’s a range that reflects what I think of as the more “playful" side of my own style. The collections within VVB are fun and full of character, but always stay true to the refined brand spirit. The line of women’s and childrenswear that I have created with Target perfectly encapsulates the spirit of VVB and features some of the earlier silhouettes that the category originally became known for. From the outset of my brand, I have always designed clothes that I want to wear, and that’s exactly what I have done here, but this time there are also clothes that my daughter would love to wear, too! What was the biggest difference designing for kids for the first time compared to designing for women? Designing for children is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to be able to incorporate childrenswear into this collection. When working on it, I really felt I could tell a story and have fun with it—and I think the clothes reflect just how much fun I had designing them! Being a mother has helped me understand what’s important when it comes to the category. I have had years of learning that function is often just as important as form, and that children need to be able to feel comfortable and free in what they wear. For me it was really all about finding a balance between the fun elements and the real-life functionality of a garment. What interested you in working with Target? For a while now, I have been thinking how great it would be to work on clothes for a customer that either doesn’t want to pay or can’t pay designer prices. I loved the idea of opening the brand up to a wider audience and being able to share my vision with a broader customer base. So when Target—a company based on accessibility and inclusiveness—proposed a collaboration which combined all of these things, it was an easy decision to make. I have always said that the best way for me to learn about new areas is to work with an expert in that field. In order to do something well, you need to surround yourself with the right people, and the Target team members have been the right people for me. It has been such a pleasure working with their team. What they have provided me with is a really unique opportunity to connect with families across the U.S. I’m so excited for the months ahead, and for everyone to see a collection that I am really proud of. Victoria Beckham for Target ranges in price from $6-$70, with most items under $40, and will be offered in sizes XS-3X for women and NB-XL for girls, toddler and baby. The collection will be available April 9 through April 30, 2017, or while supplies last, at all Target stores and Target.com, with select pieces available for global shoppers via VictoriaBeckham

As previously reported this morning, Victoria Beckham is teaming up with Target to create her first high-street collection launching in April 2017. It's a smart move for the designer, who has long wanted to conquer America. Target has 1,800 stores across the US—its reach is huge. According to a statement, the collection will feature easy-to-wear dresses, jumpsuits and playful tops and bottoms for women, as well as her first foray into childrenswear. Beckham says that the offering will be inspired by Victoria, Victoria Beckham, her refined diffusion label that reflects the "playful" side of her style. The line also features many of the initial styles that the designer has now became known for, like the shift dress, fitted silhouettes and flared skirts. It's probably a safe bet to assume that her Target collection will be based on a few of those signatures. These are the 10 items we predict to see in Beckham's high-street debut next April:

A midi skirt

Beckham loves herself a midi skirt, whether worn with a shirt as pictured here, or a silky camisole. While it's easy to write the midi-length off as a little dowdy, they're actually an easy fast-track to autumn/winter 2016 chic.

A loose shirt

Downtime Beckham likes nothing more than a loose, unbuttoned shirt, rolled up to the elbow, worn with either a midi skirt or a pair of wide-leg trousers, which brings us neatly to our next point.

Flared trousers

Worn with either Stan Smith trainers, sandals or heels, Beckham's penchant for flared trousers is prevalent on both the catwalk and through her own style choices. Be gone the skinny jean once and for all.

A midi-length slip dress

Beckham's personal style evolution – ie a move from fitted silhouettes to more fluid, loose shapes – has filtered down to her fashion collections. A midi-length slip dress is a favourite of hers, to be worn with a polo neck for cooler evenings.

One of Beckham's original collection hits was the shift dress, a style that appealed to working women who wanted to look both stylish and formal in the office.

Flat shoes

Once upon a time, Beckham was only ever pictured in towering heels. Now, the landscape has changed and she's big on leather sandals and box-fresh trainers. Expect to see a pair of chic flats in her Target range.

High-waisted jeans

She's got her own denim line so presumably she'll include a pair of jeans in her high-street collection - particularly if she's to appeal to a broad audience. Be prepared for a more formal take on denim with her preferred high-waisted, 70-inspired styles.

Oversized sunglasses

If there's a prerequisite to any Victoria Beckham ensemble, it's a pair of oversized shades. Her collection won't be complete without them.

Floral prints

Nothing groundbreaking about a floral print, but they're inevitable for any spring collection – Beckham's collaboration included.

A suit

Beckham will no doubt include a few evening options in her new Target collection, and - judging by her recent predisposition to suits - we predict a classic black two-piece will ensue. Wear yours with white trainers by day or with court shoes by night.

Victoria Beckham Soft Victoria

Categories:Other Brands

victoria_beckham_soft-victoriaThere’s the Victoria, and now, the Soft Victoria, a new offering from S/S13 Victoria Beckham. And from the looks of it, it’s slightly different as compared to the original. For starters, it looks to be more unstructured than the former, for those who prefer their bags slouchy.

And then there’s the addition of the perforated detailing, a piece of laser-cut goatskin that’s then affixed over the calfskin body. I’m assuming the goatskin here forms the outer layer (in white), over the black calfskin body, which only means 2 things really. Firstly, that it will be heavier than the norm, and secondly, it should be pricier than the rest. It’s surprising then that it retails for only USD2950, or around SGD3660 after conversion, which isn’t so bad compared to other luxury designer bags out there today that charge you lots more for a lot less.

Get it online via Bergdorf Goodman, or Cruise Fashion that’s based in the UK, where it’s priced at GBP1750.

VICTORIA BECKHAM MINI TOTE

Categories:Other Brands

Victoria-Beckham-Mini-Tote-pink

Today I stopped at the Viktoria Beckham Mini Tote twice and kept staring. I said to myself: ‘There’s something there…’

Something to flaunt yes!

I mean, it’s colorful, it’s shining and above all it’s clean and simple…

Don’t be deceived, the exterior might appear to be overly simple, but the interior is as sophisticated as a tote can get and that’s just an iron-clad proof that this bag is worth every penny. I love complex design, take a look at the sides please!

These kind-of-bags is what you really want in your wardrobe because, they have the ‘classic’ look that you need as an everyday accessory.

The interior is well structured and extremely soft, large enough to store and structure your daily essentials. And while the term ‘mini’ is added to the name, this bag is quite roomy, measuring 13.5″ x 10.5″ x 7″ (W x H x D).

For the Spring Summer 2014 Collection, Viktoria Beckham followed the code of fashion; abandon the black and flaunt with bright colors. The Mini tote is available in Ocean Blue or Candy Pink. It’s made from a mix of Buffalo and Calfskin leather with fabric lining and pale gold-tone hardware.

It’s available at Elyse Walker for $2,450 USD.

Victoria Beckham Victoria In Red

Categories:Other Brands

victoria_beckham_victoria-red-ss13I heart the Victoria, I heart the colour red. Put them both together and you’ve got the S/S13 Victoria Beckham Victoria, in Red. A bag that needs no further introduction on this blog; it’s as elegant and as sublime as Victoria Beckham herself on any given day. Measuring 34 cm by 28 cm, you’ll now find it in this stunning hue on Net-A-Porter at GBP1995.

There’s also another in black, but compared to this one, that’s just like watching David Beckham flex his buttocks on the H&M TVC but not actually being able to touch it.

VICTORIA BECKHAM ZIP POUCH WITH STRAP

Categories:Other Brands

Victoria-Beckham-Zip-Pouch-Cross-Body-in-Blush-Pink

There’s just something about a squared, chic and thin bag that comes with a shoulder strap. And it can absolutely not be boring, neither too sophisticated, just give it to me in simple and neat. Celine has never took their trio pouch out of their stock, in fact, they created more variations and colors, like the Celine Solo Trio Cosmetic Pouch, you know.

Then Balenciaga decided to participate, there was still room left in the Jacuzzi and they introduced the Balenciaga Le Dix Triple S Shoulder Bag. Of course, Louis Vuitton needed to join too, that’s why they released the Modul bag (in Damier Canvas) in the beginning of this year.

I am way off topic.

But here is something slightly different, introducing the Victoria Beckham Zip Pouch with Shoulder Strap. It’s a super-cute, grown-up cross body bag and you know what? It’s super thin too.

Painted in the loveliest color, blush pink and crafted from durable materials like calfskin and buffalo leather. The Trio Pouch got three compartments, if that’s too much then surprise. This bag only got two compartments. The shoulder strap can be adjusted and detached – shoulder it at day and turn it into a clutch in the evening.

Measuring 9.5’ x 6.5’ x 0.5’ inches (W x H x D),
